    Overpriced​ shop with mediocre taste So I visited this place on a Saturday due to meeting nearby and there was absolutely no other choice in a 1/2 mile radius. It had excellent reviews so I was expecting​ a nice huge sandwich with all the works. As soon as I walked in, the first thing that hit me were the prices. I mean this place is in a sketchy area.....but had upper east side prices. The supposed owner recommended #21 which is a steak sandwich that was braised in tomato sauce. I got a sample but found it extremely salty.....so I opted for the pastrami. The medium was approximately $12 and the large was only a $1 more....so guess what I got. When I finally got the $14 (including tax) sandwich....it looked really good but upon eating it..... I found it lacked the meat. The pastrami was so thinly sliced that even though it appeared to thick sandwich....it really wasn't. Overall.... the sandwich was overpriced for what was received.

    I always like heroes from here. They are made right there. Good, fast service. Interesting characters in the area but you don't need to mind them. I actually enjoyed it having heroes for early lunch. People would just show up and take orders home.

    Drove all the from Canada and had to leave before my uncles bbq in philly and paid 15 bucks to drive into Staten Island because I knew the main shop was closed. Like cmon guys make sure you have your hours correct. The sandwiches are the best but i was very disappointed to drive all the way to the store only to disappoint me and my buddy’s, especially my one friend who hasn’t been to nyc and needed a real taste of it!

    Great sandwich shop. Perfect for sharing as the sandwiches are gigantic. Try the nicky special.
